Captain's Corner - January 2009

I'm back! Well, sort of.

I've just been rides captain for a day. So, I really don't have much to say. Oops, I didn't mean to rhyme. It seems to happen all the time. Oh shoot, there it goes again. It must be from this no-good pen. There, I've switched to a pencil.

I want to thank Barbara Klein "our runaway fiancee" for transitioning me into this job. She threw her proverbial Captain's bouquet, and I happily caught it. She's entering the world of Bride-to-Be and the club and Wendel are stuck with me.

I want to give a BIG THANKS to all the members of the new 2009 Ride Committee. Joe Prebish and Claudia Dukeshire for generously agreeing to stay on and continue their awesome work in the MTB and C categories respectively.

And I'm proud to welcome our new Lieutenants to the team, Justin Fatuzzo, Diane Doherty, Wendel Kronis, Margaret Fontana, and Cyndi Steiner. We're lucky to have their commitment. Please show your appreciation by offering to help with coordinating or leading a ride soon.

In closing let me quote an outstanding past lieutenant Henry Gozdz:
"If you're a rider that hasn't put your name on a single thing lately (or ever) do it!, do it!, do it! You are just as capable as anyone else..."
