VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH - October 2008 - BRENDA MELISSARATOS
Unlike some of our other Volunteer of the Month recipients who are out there helping in the field, so to speak, Brenda is our behind the scenes, special contributor to the MasterLink effort.
Brenda began working with Jim Nicholson two years ago proofreading the MasterLink before it went into final production, and she has been an integral part of getting the MasterLink off to press and to all BTCNJ members ever since.
Frankly, I've never met Brenda, but I know she has been busy as a bee with the MasterLink since she joined BTCNJ. Just pick up one issue and look at all the content and you'll understand what I mean. Can you imagine a month without the MasterLink? Neither can Brenda.
In the past few months, as Lynn Ronan began transitioning to MasterLink Editor, Brenda has been a tremendous asset by taking on a larger role in helping to define style conventions and standards. Additionally, she has jumped in to help with rides editing when Lynn and Jim were short-handed (the rides aren't so tidy when them come out of the Ride Submission System). And, you know, with everything always rush, rush, rush - Brenda has never missed a deadline!
Brenda is diligent about closely reviewing the MasterLink every month, providing timely corrections and in giving valuable feedback. Her professional experience as a copy editor, and her willingness to pitch in as needed make her a valuable Masterlink team member and an important Volunteer of the Month for October 2008.
Brenda, we can't thank you enough for the work that you have done and continue to do for BTCNJ.
