VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH - November 2008 - TINA BOYER
They say that good things come in “threes”. Tina has led at
least three tours this year—or maybe it was four. Th ere were
defi nitely two weekends in a row. Whatever, who’s counting?
Tina seems to do everything in multiples. She has been an
extremely active BTCNJ member for many years. She leads at
least two tours every year. She served as Member at Large—
Tours on the BTCNJ Board for multiple years AND always
prepares varied hors d’oeuvres on her annual Cape May Tour.
Personally, I’ve never experienced this pleasure, but I’m told
the hors d’oeuvres go way beyond chunks of cheese and olives.
On a side note, the word is that Tina is just a fabulous cook.
She puts her heart and soul into food preparation as well as
into the details of her BTCNJ tours. Wine is always part of
the menu on her tours, and because she does not believe in
drinking wine from little plastic cups, she schleps a whole
set of lovely wine glasses with her on every trip. Tina says
that one should only drink wine from glass. On Tina’s tours,
participants need not go out to dinner. Th ere is always more
than enough to feed an army.
Tina is also a wonderful ride leader. While she is a “B” rider,
she enjoys her Tuesday night “C” rides. Her energy, her
experience, her knowledge of the routes are remarkable and
very much appreciated by all. She is even an active helper at
Bob Reich’s annual bike maintenance clinics. Actually, I fi rst
met Tina at one of these clinics.

Th ank you Tina. One of these years I would really like to
taste those hors d’oeuvres!
